Niin paljon hyviä keikkoja..
Also yesterday a friend from work had an extra ticket to the O2 festival and asked me to come with. I had no plans except going climbing so I happily accepted and we hurried straight from work to Hyde Park (me carrying my climbing gear and passing the festival security with no problem with a backpack full of metallic instruments and a big bag of white powder :) )
So we saw Mark Ronson and Faithless and experienced authentic bone crunching, beer slinging, foot crushing festival madness. It was really nice, but it reminded me why it's never a good idea to be completely sober at a festival and why you should always wear closed toe footwear. I was in flipflops and last night my feet were aching so much I was sure I was going to lose a toenail.
Too bad I didn't have a camera with me.
All this gigging has left me somewhat broke and hearing impaired but there's still one band to see before heading back to Finland for ten days of friends and family time, sauna and midnight sun, Fat Freddy's Drop on the 27th of June. Can't wait!

This made my day yesterday!
Jouduin eilen toden teolla pidattelemaan naurua kotimatkalla metrossa nahtyani taman kuvasarjan ilmaislehdessa! Poikaparka :) Kuva on Hawaijilla viime viikonloppuna jarjestetysta sumoturnauksesta.
I was completely cracking up on the tube when I saw this picture in the London Paper yesterday! Poor kid! :) The photo is from a sumo tournament that was held in Hawaii this weekend.

Communication is difficult. The last few months I've been in a bit of a communication crisis. In a sudden fit of homesicnes I lost faith in the substitutes for real face to face contact, stopped blogging, left a whole lot of emails unanswered and isolated myself from pretty much everybody who I couldn't meet up with in person (except the family. That just wouldn't fly...) And pissed atleast a few people off with my sudden aloofnes (they have every right). Now I've noticed the error of my ways and it's time for penitence. I set up a myspace account already a few weeks ago and am planning on sending out postcards and mix cd's to make up for being such and idiot. Anyway, I know that my faraway loved ones are always in my heart, but sometimes you need to make a little efford to keep in touch... I can't promise anything but I will try.

Joka kevät viherpeukaloani alkaa kihelmöimään ja joka kerta tapahtuu jotain outoa.Aloen lehti ei ui sekamehussa vaikka siltä näyttääkin, punainen neste tulee kasvista itsestään. Pelottavaa.

vielä hengissä! Ja miksi en olisi...?
Ok still alive. I know I've been absent from Blogistan for a while, but everything is fine, everything the same, nothing new and exiting or new and bad is going on. London has come back to life with spring. The pubs are spilling out to the streets and lager is flowing (that's probably one reason why I haven't written in a while, too much alcohol, hungovers and late nights). Anyway I've been up to lots: Finnish colleague's leaving drinks, hilarious easter friday night in Richmond, very enjoyable few days with the lovely Noora, Heikki and Ella, (who I draged out to the cheap Vietnamese restaurants of Shoreditch and to the soul heaven of Madam Jojo's), great ska gig in the Underworld (where Westbound Train stole my heart...), climbing the walls and other stuff.
And Portugal!! Four days in Porto! Out of London! I had the greatest time with Kaisa and Tero enjoying Porto's beautiful views, clear air, feisty old ladies, good food (and also the not so good food...), nice shops, cool museums and super modern metro.
Here's loads of pictures!

what is your music saying?
I have all my songs in one big list on my itunes so I use the search window a lot. It can also be used for listening to your music in a new way! Yesterday I got an interesting mix of styles from all the artists called John. Feeling romantic? How about listening to all the songs with the word "love" in the title or artist name? Less romantic? Try with "sad". Or a colour... I have a lot of songs with black or blue... Or something totally random! Try "train" or "book" or "salad"... I have a song for "apple", "orange" and "banana"!
I obviously need to get out more. Going to see Mando Diao next week at Kings College! (If the tickets arrive in time... I hope they do)

kauneus on katsojan silmässä
28/02 Chiswick park station
London is an ugly city. What you see every day - your home, neighbourhood, tube, stations, office - it can all be very gloomy and grey. But I guess there is beauty in there if you try to see it. It's in the eye of the beholder...

pitää loitolla sekä nuhan että vampyyrit
26/02 should eat more garlic
When I'm feeling down I don't feel hungry, can't be bothered to cook and eat badly. When I don't cook and eat badly I feel worse. And feel less hungry. And can't be bothered to cook. And eat worse....
Kuulin tänään valkosipulin terveysvaikutuksista. Siitä innostuneena tein porkkana -sieni-purjo-valkosipuli -nuudeleita. Hyviä olivat.

I...
- Finnish, live in London, like my job, climb walls, have loads of flatmates, cry at weddings, miss my family, like coffee (but get a bit hyper from caffeine), love music, miss winter, speak spanish, like flowers...
