I'm having some kind of mysterious boost of energy this week and am coming out of my social slump, even though normally around October I'm already starting my yearly hibernation, taking out my knitting pins and wools and commencing the winter hat projects....
So I'm using the energy well and seeing live music again. I saw Youngblood Brass Band yesterday at Cargo and the bouncy One Taste Collective at the Jazz Cafe tonight. Loved loved loved Portico Quartet. Youngblood Brass Band was energetic, agressive and raw (after the show someone described them as "Brass Asian Dub Foundation") and the One Taste Collective gig was sweet and happy and laid back and airy.
And tomorrow I'm having birthday dinner/snack and live music outing with a bunch of lovely people. Time to reflect back on the past year and to take count of the life lived? I think this year I'll just try to enjoy myself.
